Speaking of Nature, as Nature
Good morning, poets! Yes, it is February, but I’m dreaming of spring. The light is a little brighter, the earth has a fresh scent, and I can see crocuses poking up in plots of grass.
This month, I’d like you to think about persona poems—poems in the voice of someone or something else—and what this perspective can do for the way your images build upon one another. It’s nice to take a break from oneself! (I think!) It can be freeing to write a persona poem especially if you’re feeling a bit depleted. Allow someone or something else to speak through you. Today, I encourage you to look to nature, whether it’s through a lens of respect, skepticism, criticism, or love.
