This month, I have a revision prompt for you. My feet hurt, and I realized that I was wearing the wrong size shoes. What? Yes. I just thought my feet were so extremely particular that locating a pair that could withstand some mileage was a difficult feat. (I’m sorry but I couldn’t resist the pun.) But no! Thank goodness.
Let’s make sure our poems are wearing shoes that fit! A metrical foot is usually an unstressed plus a stressed syllable (two syllables, if we’re thinking of iambs as the predominant metrical foot in English
