Hello, dear readers! Well, first of all, thank you so much for your support. Some of you encouraged me to start this Substack in the first place. Some of you told me how much you like my prompts. And some of you came to this space recently, from classes of mine that you’ve taken, from social media, from Substack searches. The word has spread. I’m grateful for all of you. You might have seen this news, but if you haven’t, The University of Akron Press is publishing a book of my prompts in Spring 2024. POETRY STUDIO: PROMPTS FOR POETS will be available for pre-order soon. Here’s the announcement! The University of Akron Press makes beautiful books, and I can’t wait to see what they do with the cover and more. I’ll let you know when you can pre-order the book, and at that time, I’d be so grateful if you could help spread the word!
In the meantime, let’s get back to writing. I was sitting with a friend at a diner recently and reminded of how fun diners are. It’s not even that I hadn’t been to one in a while. I had! But I hadn’t truly appreciated how fun they can be. Our conversation meandered, we sat there forever, no one rushed us out, and we both ordered completely random things. It was great.
